Το Interruption του Γιώργου Ζώη στο Φεστιβάλ Βενετίας

Παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα στο 72ο Φεστιβάλ Βενετίας, στο Τμήμα Orizzonti, το οποίο θα διεξαχθεί από 2 έως 12 Σεπτεμβρίου 2015, κάνει η πρώτη μεγάλου μήκους ταινία του Γιώργου Ζώη με τίτλο Interruption.
Για τρίτη φορά μέσα σε πέντε χρόνια, ο Γιώργος Ζώης συμμετέχει σε ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα κινηματογραφικά φεστιβάλ του κόσμου καθώς και οι δύο προηγούμενες μικρού μήκους ταινίες του, Casus Belli (2010) και Τίτλοι Τέλους (2012), είχαν επίσης κάνει πρεμιέρα στο Φεστιβάλ Βενετίας.
Η ταινία είναι μια συμπαραγωγή μεταξύ Ελλάδας (Pan Entertainment), Γαλλίας (ΕΖ Films) και Κροατίας (JDP in association with Nukleus Film) με την υποστήριξη του Ελληνικού, του Γαλλικού (CNC) και του Κροατικού (HAVC) Κέντρου Κινηματογράφου, ενώ στην παραγωγή συμμετέχουν ακόμη η Nova, οι εταιρείες Marni Films, Cinephase, Digital District, Post Faust Ltd, Prosenghisi Ltd, Homemade Films και SquaredSquare.
H ταινία είχε ήδη από τα πρώτα της βήματα βραβευτεί για το σενάριό της με το Βραβείο Ανάπτυξης του Γαλλικού Κέντρου Κινηματογράφου (CNC) στο Φόρουμ Συμπαραγωγών Cinelink, με το βραβείο παραγωγής του προγράμματος Framework του TorinoFilmLab αλλά και επιλεγεί στο περίφημο πρόγραμμα Αtelier-Cinefondation του Φεστιβάλ Καννών και πιο πρόσφατα στο 1ο European Gap Financing Coproduction Market του Φεστιβάλ Βενετίας 2014.
Σύνοψη
Οι τελευταίοι θεατές παίρνουν τις θέσεις τους. Η παράσταση της «Ορέστειας» ξεκινάει. Ξαφνικά, τα φώτα σβήνουν και η σκηνή βυθίζεται στο σκοτάδι. Μια ομάδα αγοριών και κοριτσιών, με όπλα στα χέρια, ανεβαίνουν στη σκηνή. Ζητάνε συγνώμη για τη διακοπή και προσκαλούν όσους θεατές επιθυμούν να ανέβουν στη σκηνή μαζί τους. Η παράσταση συνεχίζεται κανονικά με μια μόνο διαφορά: η ζωή μιμείται την τέχνη και όχι το αντίστροφο.
Όπως αναφέρει ο σκηνοθέτης, το Interruption είναι μια ιστορία που εκτυλίσσεται μέσα σε ένα θέατρο. Το θέατρο προέρχεται από τη λέξη “θέατρον” που σημαίνει το μέρος όπου πάμε για να δούμε. Το Interruption είναι μια ταινία για την ίδια την θέαση.
«Στις 23 Οκτώβρη 2002, πενήντα οπλισμένοι Τσετσένοι εισβάλλουν σε κεντρικό θέατρο της Μόσχας. Στα πρώτα λεπτά της εισβολής, το κοινό γοητευμένο από την απρόσμενη εξέλιξη, δεν καταλαβαίνει αν όλο αυτό είναι μέρος της παράστασης ή όχι. Σε αυτά τα κρίσιμα λεπτά, μυθοπλασία και πραγματικότητα, αλήθεια και ψέμα, λογική και παράλογο ταυτίστηκαν. Η ταινία είναι η διαστολή αυτών των πρώτων λεπτών αμφισημίας».

Interruption, the new film by Yorgos Zois heading to Venice Film Festival
The first feature movie of Yorgos Zois, named Interruption, will premiere at the 72nd Venice Film Festival, at the section Orizzonti. The Festival will take place between 2 and 12 September.
For the third time in five years, Yorgos Zois takes part in one of the biggest film festivals in the world. His two short films, Casus Belli (2010) and Titloi Telous (2012) also premiered at Venice Film Festival.
The film is a co-production between Greece (Pan Entertainment), France (ΕΖ Films) and Croatia (JDP in association with Nukleus Film), with the support of the Greek, French (CNC) and Croatian (HAVC) Film Center. The film is also produced by Nova, the companies Marni Films, Cinephase, Digital District, Post Faust Ltd, Prosenghisi Ltd, Homemade Films and SquaredSquare.
Early on, the film took the development award for its script by the French Film Center (CNC). It was also awarded at the Co-Production Forum Cinelink, it took the production award of the Framework Programm in TorinoFilmLab and it was also part of the famous programm Αtelier-Cinefondation at the Cannes Film Festival and more recently of the 1ο European Gap Financing Coproduction Market at Venice in 2014.
Plot
The last spectators take their places. The play Oresteia begins. Suddenly, the lights go out and the stage is plunged into darkness. A group of boys and girls, with guns in their hands, go on stage. They apologise for the interruption and ask those of the spectators that want to come on stage with them. The show goes on, but with one difference: life imitates art this time, not the other way round.
The director says Interruption is a story that takes place inside a theater. Theater comes from the greek word “theatron” that means a place where we go to see. Interruption is a film about the experience of viewing.
«On the 23rd of October 2002, 50 armed Chechens invade a theater in Moscow. In those first few minutes, the audience is fascinated by the unexpected turn of events and does not understand if this is part of the show or not. During those crucial minutes, fiction and reality, truth and lies, logic and illogical become the same. The movie is an expansion of those first minutes of ambiguity» says Yorgos Zois.
